I think with technology changing as fast as it is, there are many things that we, as students, need to know. The ability to adapt is a huge trait that a student must have. You need to be able to learn new things quickly or be able to change the way you do things. Accessability to technology is also a must. I learned that this semester! The first half I thought that I could make due with my computer and Windows 2003 although the instructor clearly stated that we had to have Windows 2007. This set me back a ton because the technology of one program versus the other was a huge difference. Students also need to keep up with technology by taking a new computer class every year. If you don't know the newest stuff, you might miss out on a job because someone younger and more adaptable has taken the time to learn that information. With the economy the way it is, the person who shows the extra effort and has a better education is most likely going to get that job. So what students need, in my opinion, is the ability to adapt, education on current programs, and the willingness to learn quickly!
